Los Cabos is located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. Nestled between the blue Pacific Ocean to the west and the Sea of Cortez to the east, its breathtaking blue water and desert landscapes can be well appreciated from the air.
Dramatic red rock formations, Saguaro cactus, palms and cultivated gardens cover the pale and golden desert here, from the craggy peaks of the "Sierra de la Laguna" to its miles of pristine and golden beaches, making Los Cabos a truly unique and exclusive travel destination.
The Los Cabos area has been quietly drawing attention since the 1950's, 60's and 70's when it caught the eye of serious - and wealthy - sport fishing enthusiasts, who descended upon the area to try their luck in landing record-sized billfish.
Centuries before, the area now known as Los Cabos was a haven for pirates, namely Thomas Cavendish, who used the Arch as a lookout point for passing Spanish galleons loaded with treasure and gold from California to the Philippines. The pirates who stayed behind became fisherman.
Today, Cabo San Lucas is a bustling hub for international tourism, world-class resorts, sport fishing, championship golf, cruise ships, shopping and dining, water sports, ecotourism and adventure, and an active nightlife.
The area is considered the second fastest growing resort destination in Mexico.
